A game with colored whales, and with the public of all ages where dance, art, music, words and animation dance and interact, reinventing themselves in the same show.

“10gr x 180 ml de agua”- 2010-2011

Director and performer: Paula Quintas

Dance-installation performance- series of four scenic proposals "10 gr x 180 ml of water" is the first series of four pieces in a specific adaptable place, which investigates the physicality in a social encounter in a bistro between different cultures. North and South come together until they create a fair proportion: 10 gr x 180 ml of water. "Idiosyncrasy 8" and "Des-equilibrio" are the successive series, where they continue in search of the perfect cup, but with an unconventional, ready-made treatment. The culmination of the 10gr x 180 ml of water series comes with a promenade proposal where by means of the perfect cup the conventional becomes a ritual, "Accumulation Fourth", itinerant spaces. Four intimate feminine proposals, represented and created by four artists Galicians, Marta Alonso, Begoña Cuquejo, Paulina Funes and Paula Quintas, generating new encounters with the public, starting from the approach of space as a creative motive.

SYNOPSIS

It is a piece of research that studies the interrelation between the three disciplines that compose it: contemporary dance, live cinema and sound experimentation, generating a relational code. The research starts from a specific location to become a performative experience in a scenic space. The format of the piece is organized in modules-impacts with the same thread as a suite, made up of several brief movements in such a way that the piece will grow with new modules throughout the investigation.

SYNOPSIS

PLASTIC is a contemporary dance show that reflects on the role of women in the consumer society.

The dancer, as if she were a Barbie doll, transports us on a journey inside her plastic wrapper, empty on the inside and hermetic on the outside.

But plastic has other functions that are not seen. It can be an item to keep and preserve important content. Protect the body that transports our experiences and emotions.

How do we choose what we want to show and hide from our body?

What vital moments are stored in it? Which ones are kept and which ones are forgotten?

How do we transform our bodies to hide our emotions?

What do we let see through the plastic that surrounds us?

Paula Quintas finds her place in a field that mixes the theatrical and the choreographic to question the rigor that society exerts on the external appearance of women. A corseted role from which she intends to free herself in an exercise in breaking stereotypes of control and the frivolity of those looks that do not see beyond the superficial.

PLASTIC is a show that conveys a positive discourse of liberation.
